The GTA San Andreas VR was first unveiled in 2021 during the Meta’s Connect 2021 live stream event. The game was going to be featured for playing on Meta Quest 2.

Also, at the event, Zuckerberg claimed that Oculus has been working on the game’s VR implementation for many years. Due to this, many assumed that it could be launched anytime soon.

However, ever since Connect 2021, no noteworthy developments related to the game have been reported.

Meta Quest 2 and GTA San Andreas VR debut

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5), some Meta Quest 2 owners are concerned because of the consistent delay in the game’s release.

The GTA San Andreas VR is being developed by Video Games Deluxe for the Meta Oculus Quest 2. This studio also released the popular AAA title ‘LA Noire: The VR Case Files’ last year.

The San Andreas fans are anxious regarding the game’s release and have taken to the web forums to express their views on the same.

A user believes that Meta is doing a pivot and moving some of their pending projects over to Quest 3. Doing so will help the company benefit a lot as they won’t have to deal with any hardware constraints, like in the case of Quest 2.

Another user is of the view that the pending titles may be released with compatibility for Quest 2, as the device was a commercial success.

Some are still hopeful that Meta Quest 3 will debut with the game

Quest 2 owners (1,2,3,4,5,6) are still hopeful that the GTA San Andrea’s VR implementation will be released with the launch of the Meta Quest 3.

Some believe that the game will be a Quest 3 exclusive as this will help them easily push sales of the next headset.

A user says that the boost in hardware with the Quest 3 will allow for better textures and a smoother gameplay experience to be rendered to GTA fans.
