Apple recently released the macOS Ventura v13.3 update that introduces bug fixes to known issues, security updates, and some tweaks.
For instance, it addresses the issues where Trackpad gestures would not work properly and Ask to Buy requests from children would fail to appear on the parent’s device.
The patch also brings 21 new emoji characters, new keyboard layouts, VoiceOver support for maps in the Weather app, and much more.
However, some are disappointed as they are facing issues.
macOS 13.3 Ventura update broke Quick Look function
Some macOS Ventura users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) are experiencing difficulties in using the Quick Look feature after the recent macOS 13.3 Ventura update.
It is alleged that the Quick Look preview window hangs after playing a .gif file for about a fraction of a second. The issue pops up even if the .gif file is accessed from a different source, like Finder or any of their messages.
Due to this bug, one needs to forcefully quit the process from the Activity Monitor and relaunch it.
One of those affected complains that after activating the Quick Look function from the Notes app, they are stuck at the processing animation. Also, they are facing this problem with the notes stored online and offline.
Another user claims that the macOS Ventura 13.3 update has broken the QuickLookUIService, causing it to hang indefinitely.
Quick Look no longer works after the 13.3 update.

Potential workaround

We do hope that Apple resolves this problem quickly.
