  • Do not sign back in immediately
  • Visit www.google.com
  • Click “Sign In” in the top right corner.
  • Visit your desired Google service either through the App Launcher in the upper right corner or visiting the service’s URL (like mail.google.com or gmail.com)

Update 1:

Users on Apple support are saying that Safari 11 has issues with other websites as well.

Original Story below:

Unsettled are the Mac users who upgraded Safari to version 11, for the reason that it has made Gmail inaccessible. What’s being reported is that logging-in to Gmail using Safari 11 redirects Mac users to partner.android.com, followed by a ‘FORBIDDEN ERROR 403‘ notification.

Few days back , Apple released Safari 11, and since then complains have been pouring in on the official Gmail forum about a redirect following login. The issue is Safari 11 specific, as other browsers continue to access Gmail successfully.

Shortly after the issue came to light, an expert addressed the affected users on the official help forum on September 24 and said that

This issue has been raised with Google already, I will also raise this thread

Furthermore, on September 25, they suggested the users to use web browsers other than Safari. Here’s what they said

At the present, please use another Google supported and updated web browser – Chrome, Firefox (for Apple). Seems to be Safari only causing the issue

Currently, there is no confirmation, as to where the root cause actually lies, and who’s the culprit – Apple or Google. But, the issue certainly is baffling many Mac users for their inability to use the service. Meanwhile, the only option is to use browsers other than Safari, till the issue gets fixed.

In case the aforementioned is troubling you as well, keep a tab here, as we’ll keep you updated about the future developments on this, if any.
