Of late, users of Google Home have been complaining about Logitech Harmony Hub commands not working properly with the smart speaker. Specifically, complainants say commands like “ask Harmony” to “tell Harmony” aren’t yielding desired results.

Here’s how some users explain the problem:

Mine quit working all together yesterday. It was working intermittently since Monday..ish. I have a routine that says things like “ask harmony to”… And All I get in reply is “I can’t help with that”. ‘i don’t understand”

With me it says now “sorry I can’t send messages yet” when asking to talk to harmony. Also my routine: Game time (switch on Xbox etc.) Gets the same response

Having the same issue as of last night. ‘sorry, I can’t help with that yet’ or ‘sorry, I don’t understand’. First time it hasn’t worked since I got them both

Following are a couple of Reddit threads where the problem is being discussed:

Thankfully, we know on whose end the problem lies. It’s Google. The confirmation regarding this came from the official Google Home Twitter handle recently:

While it’s good the problem has been officially acknowledged, there’s no word on when it will be fixed. Here’s hoping that happens sooner than later.

Other issues

A few other Google Home related issues have also come to light. All of them have been officially acknowledged.

Firstly, Home Mini users are facing issues playing MSNBC on TuneIn. They say the device responds “Streaming MSNBC on TuneIn,” but then nothing happens. Google has confirmed they’re aware of the problem:

Next up is a problem with Ambient Mode not showing up on all Google Photos albums. Google says this is a known issue as well:

For Ambient Mode, we’re aware of the issue and our team is working on a fix

And finally, when someone pointed out that commands for Spotify aren’t working properly, team Google Home on Twitter said they are aware of the issue with Spotify.

It’s worth mentioning that Google Home users have been consistently reporting problems with Spotify. See here.

Sadly, as is the case with other confirmations, no time line for a fix was shared in this case as well. However, rest assured as we’ll let you know as and when any news worthy development takes place on any of these matters.
