LG G8X ThinQ was released in 2019 with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. While Google has already released Android 11, LG is still upgrading the likes of LG G8X ThinQ with the Android 10 update. To recall, the G8X ThinQ was expected to get the OS update in Q2 2020.
In fact, the Sprint G8X ThinQ variant got the Android 10-based LG UX 9.0 update back in May followed by the Canadian variants. After some time, the update went live in Brazil and Germany and a wider roll out was expected as well.
AT&T also started rolling out the OS update to its LG G8X ThinQ variant via LG Bridge by June-end while the Japanese LG G8X ThinQ units picked the same in July. Now, it is time for the Indian variant as the LG G8X Android 10-based LG UX 9.0 update is live in India.
It has been almost a couple of months since LG provided the LG UX 9.0 update to a LG G8X variant. Nevertheless, Indian LG G8X ThinQ users can finally get their hands on Android 10 as the LG UX 9.0 update is live over the air.
While LG has taken its time to release the Android 10 update, it is still better than leaving eligible devices with no updates at all. So, if you have already upgraded your Indian LG G8X ThinQ with LG UX 9.0, feel free to drop a comment below.
That said, we hope LG strives to deliver both major as well as minor updates to its devices as quickly as possible. Meanwhile, you can check out our dedicated LG section for more such stories.
