The LG ‘C’ series of smart OLED TVs are known for their image quality and value-for-money in the OLED TV segment.
The C2 is also the go-to choice for gamers thanks to AMD FreeSync, NVIDIA G-SYNC, VRR, and HDMI 2.1 support. The TV model also performs better overall and has a range of display sizes as well.
However, like any other smart television, LG C2 OLED TV also has its fair share of bugs and issues.
LG C2 sound or audio stuttering issue with Freeview HD channels
According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), some LG C2 smart TV owners are experiencing an audio stuttering issue with the Freeview HD channels.
A C2 55-inch TV owner says that there is a very slight break in sound on Freeview. They also allege that the issue pops up in both advertisements and broadcast programs.
Another LG C2 65-inch smart TV owner reported having this issue when connected to an external Sonos Beam 2 soundbar via eARC and PS5. They also claim to get sound dropouts every couple of minutes.
The issue has been persistent for a few months, but the company has not yet resolved it, which can be quite annoying frustrating.
Had my 55C2 delivered last week but I’ve constantly had a small sound issue. It’s like a very slight break in sound (literally a fraction of a second) and only seems to be on Freeview. this can be on adverts and programs I’m watching.

I’ve had my new 55 C2 for 2 days now and noticed the same. On freeview HD the sound stutters for a second, normal SD version seems fine. Haven’t tried netflix and other apps yet. Sound played through TV speakers.

Some (1,2,3,4) are facing another problem where their television would randomly switch to live television, after which there is no further audio output on their soundbar.
It is also claimed that no sound or audio output can be heard from the internal speakers as well. This spoils the viewing experience for some.
Also, it is interesting to note that this issue seems to affect other LG TV models and even non-LG models.
Although nothing official, one of those affected allegedly contacted LG customer support regarding the concern, who escalated the issue for further investigation.
Potential workaround
Fortunately, we did come across a potential workaround that may help some get rid of this issue. You need to set the ‘Match Screen and Sound Setting’ to bypass, for this hack to work.
We’ll keep tabs on the sound or audio stuttering issue on LG C2 OLED smart TV and update the article as soon as we come across any new information.
