Xiaomi released the MIUI 12 beta 20.8.14 update yesterday in China. But it isn’t yet available to all eligible devices. According to the release notes from Xiaomi, the update has been delayed for the Mi 9, Mi 9 Pro 5G, and the Redmi K20 Pro.
The company has cited stability issues which resulted in the update to be delayed for the aforementioned devices. Thus, users with these phones from Xiaomi will have to wait a while longer before they get the it, which in turn means that they will miss out on the changes that come with version 20.8.13 for now.
Luckily there aren’t any major new features or improvements with the latest beta ROM. However, the 20.8.14 update brings a couple of bug fixes for devices. We’ve listed the changelog for the MIUI 12 beta update version 20.8.14 below:
Status Bar, notification bar:
1. Fix the problem that there is no Gaussian blur in the notification bar drop-down.
2. Fixed some notification icons not displayed in the native style.
As you can see, it’s a pretty slim changelog, however, if you’ve been waiting for either of these two bugs to be fixed, it seems the wait will continue. Of course, once the fixes arrive in beta form for the devices, we can expect them to be released in the stable ROM as well.
Speaking of which, the Mi 9, Mi 9 Pro 5G, and Redmi K20 Pro have all bagged the stable MIUI 12 update. Nevertheless, the release notes do not entail a timeframe as to when we can expect to see the update rollout for the devices in question.
So we will continue to track any further developments and will post an update once the update is released for the Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9 Pro 5G and Redmi K20 Pro. Meanwhile, you can also keep an eye out on our MIUI 12 update tracker to know when it arrives on your device.
