ITVX bug where shows cut-off before ending gets acknowledged; crashing during adverts & buffering issues reported too

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6), some ITVX users are facing an issue where they are unable to stream the ending of shows because they randomly cut off.

It is alleged that the app display ads for a couple of minutes, and after that, an error message pops up.

A user claims that an error message pops up at the end part stating that ‘your internet isn’t connected for ITVX’. This error appears after around 3 minutes of advertisements.

@ITVX Been trying to watch Vera (S12, E3). Crashes 15 minutes before the end! What’s going on? I’ll never get to find whodunnit at this rate.

These issues have been going on for a while now. However, the troubles of ITVX subscribers do no end up here.

Some users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) are experiencing app crashing issues after each and every ad break. Also, for some, the streaming freezes, making the app unusable.

A Samsung TV owner adds that TV shows get locked and won’t resume after the ad break. Also, only the company logo is displayed at the bottom corner of the screen.

They further say that one needs to forcefully close the app and relaunch it time and again in order to keep going.

Another user alleges that after every advertisement, the picture disappears, and one can only hear the playback sound.

@ITVX seriously ! Why during every ad break & after 2 ads does streaming freeze and buffer? Makes watching ITV too painful!

Some claim to have even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but to no avail.

Some ITVX (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) users are also facing buffering problems while streaming content from the app.

Apparently, it takes about 10 minutes to get through a single ad due to constant buffering. They also say that it has now become impossible to stream content on their app.

Another subscriber claims to be experiencing this issue at the beginning and ending of an ad.

What’s with the constant spinning green circle, it appears at every ad break and then in the middle of the bloody advert. Your content is excellent, but the service is so very poor!

Fortunately, ITVX has officially acknowledged the issue and is currently working on fixing it. Although an official ETA for the bug fix has not been provided.

We do hope that ITVX resolves the issues soon.
