Pocophone F1 (Poco F1 in India) has got to be one of the biggest shake-ups to the smartphone industry in recent times. Launched back in 2018, its recipe was simple: flagship specs for a fraction of the price of similarly-spec’d devices.
The device launched with Android 8 Oreo and has since been updated to run Android 10 with MIUI 12 on top.
See, despite being one of the more capable devices in Xiaomi’s line-up even in 2020, the device’s update to MIUI 12 has been a bumpy one with long waits.
We have a detailed post looking at the journey to the recently released MIUI 12 for the Poco F1 and you can check out that coverage here.
One of the issues that was rumored to have caused the massive delay in MIUI 12 for the Poco F1 was the overheating when recording 4K video.
The official MIUI 12 update for Pocophone F1 is out. But has the issue been addressed?
According to a report posted by a Poco F1 user running the latest re-released MIUI 12.0.2, the issue is still present.
I got overheat message during video recording in miui12 in poco f1 that rolled out today.
How could I fix 4k video recording that lasts upto 15 20 minutes atleast.
However, this seems to be a limited issue as we couldn’t find any more complaints on this issue on the social forums. But this is far from the only issue users of the latest release have been complaining about.
A tweet by Poco India General Manager, Manmohan, announcing the release of MIUI 12 for Poco F1, has been met with countless complaints (1,2,3,4) of bugs afflicting the said build.
Some of the bugs reported include the ‘No space when saving contacts’ issue we’ve highlighted before, sluggish animations, inconsistent font size, glitchy old style control panel among others.
Facing some problem after updating to latest miui12 to poco f1.
Problem ; secured folder (secure notes, message, photos etc) is not opening.
I have some important notes in secured folder and need to have that back.

For an update that has been delayed as much as this MIUI 12 for Poco F1, and re-released due to bugs, this is an awful amount of user complaints.
We can only hope that Xiaomi fixes these issues quickly as they risk alienating a lot of Poco fans.
