The launch of iPhone X brought along a new challenge for iOS app developers – to modify their apps in order to fix issues like distorted display, non-optimum utilization of screen space, or app not playing nice with the device’s notch.
Google has been slowly updating their apps as well. For example, Gmail received iPhone X support back in December last year. However, the app’s modern cousin Inbox hasn’t received any such update yet. Needless to say, users of Inbox by Gmail aren’t happy because of this, and have been voicing their displeasure on platforms ranging from Google forums to Twitter (1,2).
Well, the good news is Google has finally offered a word on the matter. On a Google forum thread discussing the problem, a company employee confirmed recently that the Inbox team is working to bring the iPhone X support.
Here’s what Vanessa, who is also the Inbox forum Community Manager, exactly said:
Hi Everyone!
Thanks for your feedback. The Inbox team is aware and taking the necessary steps to provide an update to optimize for iPhoneX. Thanks for hanging in there with us!

Good to know the company is working on it, but sadly, there’s still no information on when the updated app will be released. We hope this happens sooner than later.
