iPadOS 14.7 update doesn't fix FaceTime crashing issue on M1 iPad Pro & probably other models, as per some user reports

The Apple iPad is arguably one of the best out there when it comes to large hand held devices. Many similar devices have come and gone, but the iPad has been dominating the market ever since it came out.

A factor which has made the iPad stand out is its software, which is smooth, reliable and gets updated for a couple of years. This factor was never really found on Android tablets, thus the downfall.

Things got even better when Apple switched from iOS to iPadOS (just an iOS variant for the iPad) which introduced a set features that should have been baked into iPad long time back, like re-designed app dock and split-screen mode yet to be found on iPhone.

But, no matter how great the software experience is, people might often find themselves with issues. One such is the FaceTime crashing issues on iPad Pro M1 and possibly other iPads too on various iterations of iPadOS 14.

Apparently, if one party on FaceTime has iPadOS 14 installed on their tablet, it would crash and disconnect the call.

In some cases, despite both devices bagging the same iPadOS version, the iPad Pro M1 seems to be the victim here.

My daughter has an iPad 8th generation and it seems there are no issues (iOS 14.6). On my M1 I have tried a different Apple ID and the problem is still there. So no idea what it is causing it. Source

Unfortunately, the latest iPadOS 14.7 doesn’t address nor fixes FaceTime crashing issues on several iPads.

It’s certain the FaceTime crashing issue on iPads has been present for a while now on iPadOS 14 despite owners going through basic workarounds such as rebooting, signing in & out of Apple ID and even spending hours on call with Apple representatives. Yet no concise fix in sight.
