This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (from Dec 25, 2020) follows:
Xiaomi is winding up the MIUI 12 rollout ahead of MIUI 12.5 release. Most of the devices that were on the list have already bagged the builds, except for a few devices.
Apparently, skins accompanied by bugs and issues is not only limited to Xiaomi, other OEMs and skins have their fair share of bugs and issues as well.
Xiaomi, at regular intervals, releases weekly bug reports and readily accepts user feedback. For a brand with such a huge user base, it gets important to act upon the issues with prompt efficiency.
Here’s a continually updated list of bugs & issues encountered on MIUI 12.
The influx of reports suggests an Instagram and Youtube apps centric bug has started troubling Xiaomi users.
As per users, a notification pops up while using Instagram and Youtube apps stating that, “Instagram/Youtube keeps stopping”. The apps randomly started crashing, leaving users in the lurch.
A Xiaomi forum moderator in response to these Instagram & Youtube crashing queries has said:
it’s an issue with the new app update. Instagram should fix it soon. Also, try clearing the cache and data of the app and reboot before checking again (might work).
So far, Xiaomi users are the only ones who have witnessed this crashing. Meanwhile, the forum mod’s acknowledgment comes as a sigh of relief for the affected lot.
The root cause of Instagram and Youtube crashing remains unclear but it’s good to know that a bug-fixing app update is coming soon.
For what it’s worth, clearing the app data followed by a reboot or simply re-installing the apps should temporarily fix this issue.
