Instagram keeps rolling out new features and updates every now and then to make the platform more engaging and interesting.
For instance, the app’s ability to let users comment with GIFs on Instagram posts was very well-received.
On the contrary, we also saw how the ‘Notifications’ button’s new position got criticized by a number of users.
Instagram ‘Invite Collaborator’ not showing
Several Instagram users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) are now complaining that ever since the ‘Invite Collaborator’ feature was introduced, it either doesn’t show up or occasionally vanishes from their accounts.
Has anybody faced issues with @instagram where the “invite collaborator” option is completely gone? I’ve reported this issue many times to no avail and this is really frustrating.

i just need the invite collaborator and the partnership toggle back on my Instagram 😭 like u can take back the monetization… i just need my creator tools again.

The feature is used to co-create reels with other accounts where the creator of the original reel invites another account as a collaborator. However, its frequent disappearance makes it impossible for creators to invite others for collabs.
Not just that, this issue also renders the account ineligible for collaboration. Those accounts then get a ‘can’t be invited as a collaborator yet’ error message.
It seems that the bug is affecting everyone (1,2,3) irrespective of their accounts (personal, business, or creator).
Possible reason
It is quite plausible that Instagram is still testing this feature and that’s why people may lose and regain it unexpectedly.
According to a user, it is a common pattern for Instagram when they decide to roll out a feature.
The feature was randomly removed from your account. It essentially is due to Instagram’s way of rolling out features to accounts. They also will randomly remove it. Nothing you can do about it.

Unfortunately, Instagram hasn’t commented on the issue officially or clarified when the option will be fully available.
So those affected can only wait for the team to fully release the feature. We’ll keep tabs on the latest developments and update the article accordingly.
