The Hulu app is used across multiple platforms including the Amazon Fire TV devices. However, users of the Fire TV have been facing a problem with Hulu.
According to multiple reports, the pause function in the Hulu app is not working on multiple Amazon Fire TV devices.
@hulu_support please fix the pause on the app for Fire TV. Stopped working after the last update. Just saw where you’re raising the price as well – sure would be nice to have the ability to pause a show considering this price increase

This is inconveniencing Hulu subscribers who are unable to pause content on the Amazon Fire TV devices, with the Firestick 4K seemingly the most affected.
It is worth mentioning that the pause functionality on other apps like Netflix, HBO Max, and Amazon Prime Video is working as expected on the Fire TV devices.
This further indicates that the issue lies with the Hulu app for the platform and needs to be fixed by the service provider.
And indeed, Hulu Support has acknowledged this issue stating that they are working to fix the pause functionality, most likely through an update to the Hulu app on affected Amazon Fire TV devices.
But of course, there’s was no ETA given for the fix, but we hope it won’t be long.
Meanwhile, affected Hulu users may be able to get the pause functionality working again on the Amazon Fire TV devices using an easy but short-lived workaround.
It seems uninstalling the Hulu app from the affected Fire TV device then restarting the device and then reinstalling the app again is temporarily fixing the issue for some.
While this is not a proper fix for the aforementioned issue, there is no harm in giving it a go until it is properly fixed by Hulu.
That said, we will report back with more details as and when new information becomes available so stay tuned.
