It seems like Huawei has now made this a habit of not delivering the latest updates to its phones, that are still well capable of running the latest version of updates. A new addition to this list is speculated to be the Huawei Y6 Pro 2019.

EMUI 10 is the company’s custom UI, which is based on Android 10. And like any other smartphone owner, users of the phone started asking when the Android 10 (EMUI 10) update will be rolled over for their devices.

But, if we go by the responses from the Huawei Chat support, the EMUI 10 update is likely not going to arrive for the Huawei Y6 Pro 2019, at least in the Philippines.

Users of the phone have taken to Twitter to share this piece of information that when asked about the update, they were given the below response:

We are sorry to inform you that the Huawei Y6 Pro released in the Philippines will not get the EMUI 10 or higher update due to the phone 1s unable to sustain the EMUI 10 system. We recommend looking for another device released under EMUI 10.

Notably, the device was launched back in February 2019 and comes with Helio A22 processor, 3 GB of RAM, a 3,020 mAh battery, and Android 9 Pie out of the box.

A normal phone would have picked up at least two Android OS major updates and going by the statement from the Huawei chat support, it seems like the Huawei Y6 Pro 2019 will not see even one Android firmware update.

Since these reports are specifically from the Philippines, users of the Y6 Pro 2019 in other regions can still hope for the Android 10 update. Moreover, this information is coming from the chat support, which does not always have the correct information.

So, it is advised to take this piece of information with a pinch of salt, as nothing can be confirmed up until something official from Huawei comes up about the EMUI 10 update for Huawei Y6 Pro 2019.
