Original story (from March 07) follows:

HTC was late to come out with the Android Pie update, probably due to the circumstances that the company was going through and technical issues. Despite this, the first HTC device to get the Android 9 Pie was the HTC U11 Life (even before other flagships).

Now, the company seems to be following the same trend with the Android 10 update as well. It makes sense for the company to update HTC U11 Life as it is an Android One device. HTC U11 Life came out in November 2017 with Android Oreo.
