HQ Trivia Extra Lives gone/missing issue gets officially acknowledged

HQ is a trivia video game developed by Intermedia Labs and its app is available across several platforms namely iOS, Android, iPadOS, and tvOS.

It was first released in 2017 and allows players to participate in daily live trivia games through which they can win or split prize money for free.

Users can tune in every day to answer trivia questions and solve word puzzles in difficulty levels ranging from easy to savage.

The game also includes a referral system that is incentivized by the in-game rewards called extra lives. These are given out when a new HQ user signs up with your referral code and plays their first game.

Availed extra lives can then be applied once per game to dodge elimination.

One extra life can only be used once per game but can’t be applied on the final question. They kick in automatically upon elimination so that you can immediately get back into the game.

However, judging by a slew of complaints on social media, the extra life system isn’t working too well these days. Or since June 9 to be more precise.

@hqtrivia where did everyone’s extra lives go? I couldn’t continue the game tonight because mine, and apparently everyone else’s, are gone. Coins are as well.

And it’s not just the extra lives that are affected as several other items from the HQ Shop including super spins, and VIP tix now read zero as well, all with the exception of erasers which still show normal numbers.

Some users reportedly can’t cash out as well since the app says that cashouts have been disabled.

If you are one of the users facing this issue then panic not, for it has already been acknowledged by HQ Trivia and a fix is already in the works.
