This story is being continuously updated…. New updates are being added at the bottom…..
Original story (from April 25) follows:
VoWiFi (WiFi Calling) feature was introduced by two of the major network providers in India, and ever since the launch, this new feature has been in huge demand by the smartphone owners.
Some of the OEMs enabled this feature via an update without the need of the users asking for it, but there are still a few OEMs like Huawei and Honor that are yet to make this feature available for some of its devices.
Readers should note that not all the smartphones available in the market will be getting the VoWiFi feature. Matter of fact, devices like Honor View 10 and quite a few Xiaomi devices (Mi A3, Mi A2 (Lite), & Mi A1) also do not support this feature, for which the smartphone OEM is to be blamed.
For naive, the VoWiFi (WiFi Calling) makes use of the WiFi connection instead of the mobile network in places where there is a low signal to improve the call quality.
Honor, which is a sub-brand of Huawei, has already rolled out this feature for Honor Play, Honor 20i, Honor 9X, Honor 8X, Honor 10 Lite, while devices like Honor 9 Lite is yet to get this update along with others as it is still under development.
And going by recent developments, there is some information related to VoWiFi for Honor 9N and Huawei P30 Pro. As per one report, the Honor 9N is scheduled to get the VoWiFi (WiFi calling) feature with the future March security update.
Not only this, responding to a user query about the VoWiFi feature for the Huawei P30 Pro, the official Twitter handle of Huawei India stated that the update is expected to arrive by mid-April as it is under development.
We would like to inform you that VoWi-Fi calling features is under development and expected to be released tentatively by Mid of April’20. We request you to kindly stay tuned to our official pages or Support (HiCare) App for more information.
