Huawei is facing some major challenges with its new devices in the rest of the world. This is due to the whole US trade ban which means that new Huawei devices don’t come with Google Play services, a huge dealbreaker in markets that heavily rely on Google services.

Despite these challenges, Huawei pushes on and is committed to pushing out regular and timely updates to its devices. Today, the company is rolling out a new update to the Honor 20.

The Honor 20 was first announced back in June 2019 running Android 9 Pie with the company’s Magic UI 2.1 out of the box. The device is in line for an update to Magic UI 3.1 and recent reports indicated that the update would hit eligible devices as from the end of July.

Today, users of the Honor 20 in India have something to smile about seeing as Huawei is finally rolling out Magic UI 3.1 to their units. This update packs a lot of goodies for the devices.

Based on the June 2020 security patch, this Magic UI 3.1 for Honor 20 can be identified by its software version number C431E9R3P7. It brings multi-window support for better multitasking, optimizes system performance, and better multi-device collaboration among many more features.

Below is the update changelog.

We can only hope that Huawei pushes this build of Magic UI to more eligible devices before focus shifts to the next big update, Magic UI 4, following the upcoming launch of Android 11.

We shall keep an eye on this rollout and update as and when we get more details. We also have a dedicated Magic UI 3.1 tracker to log all the Huawei and Honor devices that get updated and you can check it out here.
