Here’s the crux of the article in video form
Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action role-playing game and is set in the Harry Potter books’ original setting. It appears that more and more people are enjoying the game already.
However, there have been some shortcomings too. For instance, we highlighted how the game’s camera became choppy and it even stopped working or loading for some PS5 players.
Hogwarts Legacy ‘pale or lighter skin tones’ not available
Some Hogwarts Legacy players (1,2,3,4,5,6) have now observed that there are no pale or lighter skin tones in the character editor of the game.
I am much lighter than any of the available tones as well, but after seeing like 12 “we need lighter skin tones” posts in a row I had this thought that really put things into perspective and made me care substantially less.

Any pc players know how to modify an existing character’s skin color? skin color is darker in the game world than the character creator…

As a result, players are not very pleased about it and are criticizing the same. It is now almost impossible for them to create characters with a pale complexion as even the lightest skin tone seems ‘tan’.
Moreover, this makes it difficult for people with a fair complexion to create characters who resemble them or simply for anyone to create a random pale-skinned character.
To make matters worse, there have also been instances where the forum moderators are censoring posts asking for lighter skin tones.
When in fact, some players are just trying to submit their feedback and in no way perpetuating political ideas.
Potential workaround
We have come across a workaround that can help fix the issue temporarily. It seems that there is a PC mod that enables the addition of paler skin tones.
However, there is still no solution for console players. Those affected can only wait for the developers to come up with a permanent fix.
Unfortunately, developers have yet to acknowledge the missing pale or lighter skin tones in the game. We’ll keep an eye on the matter and update this story.
