In this connected age where high-speed, reliable internet is the norm rather than the exception, content consumption has followed and today, we stream many of the content we consume.
Platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, and HBO Max are just some of the popular services we have today and this list is only set to keep growing.
HBO Max is an American subscription video-on-demand streaming service that is owned by AT&T via the WarnerMedia Direct subsidiary of WarnerMedia.
We’ve talked about HBO Max service on this platform in the past and you can check out our previous coverage in our dedicated HBO Max section here.
Recently, we saw HBO Max acknowledging an issue where the popular show, Gomorrah had a problem with its season 4 captions (subtitles). It was apparent that these subtitles were not working or were missing altogether, more on that here.
Now, however, it is coming to light that HBO Max has yet another issue where some foreign HBO originals such as Gomorrah and 30 coins are missing non-English language options.
Gomorrah on The HBO Max App was available in Italian until a few days ago and now the only option is English. I am aware of how to change audio options it’s not that.

According to users, these said shows are missing subtitles in other languages which means that non-English users cannot get captions on these HBO Max original shows.
This issue has been brought to the attention of HBO and now, it is coming to light that the company is aware and working to fix this issue.
Hi there, thanks for bringing this to our attention. Our team is currently aware that there are still issues with Gomorrah language options and we’re working on a fix. Thank you for your patience.
