Niantic brought the magical world of Harry Potter to augmented reality with its game called Harry Potter Wizards Unite. The game was launched on June 21, 2019, and is available on Android and iOS platforms. The game is similar to Pokemon Go, but it didn’t manage to get as much fan base as Pokemon Go.
As Christmas is about to arrive soon, Wizards Unite Christmas Calamity event is live in the game. The event started on December 3, 2019, at 2 pm Eastern time and will stay live until December 10, 2019, at 2 pm Eastern Time.
The Harry Potter Wizards Unite Calamity event features the following: Hogwarts Yule Ball, event-exclusive 3k Portkeys, Brilliant foundables, Brilliant runestones, and Brilliant Event Tasks. Players can also earn a variety of rewards under this event.
This list of awards which players can get under this event are the following: Up to 14 Restricted Section Books, Yule Ball Robes, Ice Sculpture Frame, Animated Snowflakes Sticker, Hermione Hair Pins Sticker, Silver House Statues Frame, Durmstrang Ship Animated Sticker, Yule Ball Fancy Hat for Ministry ID Portrait and 50 Gold.
Apart from this, Niantic has also revealed the details regarding the upcoming community day. Harry Potter Wizards Unite December Community Day is going to take place on December 14, 2019, from 11 am to 2 pm in your local timezone.
During the Community Day hours, there will be an increase encounters from Care of Magical Creatures, Hagrid Hut Registry Page, including Hagrid, Baby Norwegian Ridgeback, and Buckbeak. Also, all Portmanteaus distance will be reduced to half. More details regarding the upcoming Wizards Unite Community Day have been listed below.
- Special Community Day Portmanteaus! Blue Portmanteaus will reward Abraxan Winged Horse and the White Portmanteaus will reward the Hagrid’s Hut Foundable.

- Tonic for Trace Detection will have a higher chance of showing Hagrid, Baby Norwegian Ridgeback, and Buckbeak
- Baruffio’s Brain Elixir will give out 3x Wizard XP
- Special Assignments for Community Day that reward Wizard XP, Spellbooks, and Coins
