Back in December 2017, Android Auto (AA) users brought to notice – on the official help forum – that Google Play Music app’s update (pushed out on December 07) triggered a radio station related glitch for them. Coming to the rescue of users, Google acknowledged the issue today.
What’s being reported is, Google Play Music’s (GPM) functionality to create new stations is broken. According to the reports, on pressing the radio station button, instead of creating a new station based off of the song being played, GPM jumps back to an old radio station or song. Here’s how a user explained the problem in question:
It’s worth mentioning that some of the affected users confirmed that the issue is specific to AA, as Google Play Music app works as intended in other cases (like on phone).
Soon after the problem came to light, Google confirmed the functionality is indeed broken. Google employee Kevin (from Android Auto team) addressed the matter and updated that it will be fixed in an upcoming update.
