The Pixel Watch is Google’s first-ever smartwatch that shares the best of both worlds as it features a mix of both Fitbit and Google’s software.

But that doesn’t mean it’s immune to various bugs and issues. For instance, the AOD feature caused the screen to burn in while sleep tracking hasn’t been working properly for some.

Google Pixel Watch causing burns

According to reports, numerous Google Pixel Watch users complained that it is causing burns, rashes, or irritation on their wrists.

A rash or burn appears around the region where the impacted Google Pixel Watch owners wear their watches. This creates a lot of discomfort and makes wearing the watch for an extended period of time problematic.

The burning sensation is felt on the user’s skin just beneath the watch area. Also, some users stated that the Google Pixel Watch became quite hot after charging.

I am getting burns on my wrist directly behind the watch body. Like where the heartrate sensor is. It’s not an allergic reaction to the band or metals. This is a straight up burn that left a blister. I changed arms and it did it again. I opened a ticket with Google, just wanted to see if any others had anything like this.

Some are blaming the watch’s silicone bands for causing rashes and itchiness on their skin (1,2):

I get rashes from silicon bands. I switched to a woven band on the pixel watch. Anything that is cloth & breathes will do a lot better. Leather bands can also work but still itch over time as they don’t breathe as much as cloth.

But another Pixel Watch owner has suggested a probable cause for this problem. The majority of reported “burns” could possibly be bacterial infections caused by wearing the gadget too tightly for too long without a break.

As a result, the skin does not have a chance to dry up, and they experience a burn or a rash in that spot.

Issue escalated

Nonetheless, one of the Gold Product Experts stated that the issue with the Google Pixel Watch causing rashes or discomfort has been escalated:
