Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro are undoubtedly among the most popular Android smartphones. In comparison to the Pixel 6 series, both phones have some new hardware and software.
However, being a popular choice isn’t always enough as it also gets plagued by various bugs and issues every now and then. For instance, these smartphones sometimes fail to register a touch.
Google Pixel 7 poor video call quality on WhatsApp and Meet
Several Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro owners (1,2,3,4,5,6) have now taken to social media platforms to report an issue related to poor video call quality.
Um why do Whatsapp video calls look so blurry and low quality on the 7 Pro? it looked just fine on my old OnePlus

My front camera is blurry often when in a video call on Google Meet with my Pixel 7 Pro. If I reboot my phone, the image is clear again.

It’s worth noting that Google Pixel 6 series users (1,2,3) faced a similar issue in the past. And it continues to affect Pixel 7 owners as well.
The video call quality is compromised in a way that it gets blurry and out of focus sometimes. What makes the situation worse is the fact that it affects various apps including Google Meet, WhatsApp, and Skype as well.
This is quite frustrating for users as they are seemingly not getting the best photo and video experience as claimed by the company.
Issue escalated for investigation
Google Meet previously confirmed that they are looking into this issue, but it seems that it hasn’t been resolved yet. It’s pretty evident that users are still struggling with the problem.
As a result, the poor video call quality issue on Pixel 7 while using WhatsApp or Meet has once again been escalated for further investigation by the developers.
We hope that the developers take note of it and provide a solution to those affected as soon as possible.
We will keep our eye on the problem and update the story with further developments.
