Google Pixel 6 March 2023 feature drop delayed

Google Pixel 6 series owners were disappointed to find that they did not receive the expected March 2023 feature drop.

According to some reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7), the feature drop has been delayed due to unknown reasons, leaving Pixel 6 owners wondering when they can expect the update to arrive.

No March update for Pixel 6, 6 Pro, 6a?
I notice that the March update announcement on this forum doesn’t show the update as available for the Pixel 6 or 6 Pro or 6a, nor does the update appear for those phones among the OTA updates at https://developers.google.com/android/ota (it does for all the other models), nor does my 6a find an update available when I check in settings on the phone. My wife’s Pixel 5 has updated OK.
Why is the update missing for the 6 series?

The March feature drop is live for most. But why isn’t it available for the 6 series? One of the reasons I bought this phone was the “excellent” update support.

While it’s unclear why the feature drop was delayed, it’s worth noting that software updates are complex and can sometimes encounter unexpected issues that require more time to resolve.

Google is known for prioritizing the quality and stability of its updates, so it’s possible that the delay is due to the company taking extra time to ensure that the feature drop is fully tested and ready for release.
