The Google Pixel 3 is currently in line to receive the upcoming Android 11 update which is expected to bring a bunch of new features to the device, however, custom ROMs such as LineageOS 17.1 bring a lot more functions and settings for users to play around with.
Thus, no matter how good a stock ROM from an OEM is, there’s always a better custom ROM lurking in the shadows. The Android 10-based LineageOS 17.1 update released back in April and brought support for a bunch of devices.
But sadly, no Google Pixel devices were supported with the release. Well, that’s now changing since the Google Pixel 3 has now received official support for LineageOS 17.1. At present, the custom ROM is only available for the Google Pixel 3. However, the build for the Pixel 3 XL isn’t far off.
The imminent arrival of LineageOS 17.1 for the Pixel 3 duo was spotted on Reddit because of the merged commit in the LineageOS Gerrit Code Review. While the build for the Pixel 3 was successful, the Pixel 3 XL build 20200811 failed.
Thus, Pixel 3 XL users may have to wait a few more days until the build is ready and working. Pixel 3 users, on the other hand, can check out the new LineageOS 17.1 ROM on their device by clicking on the download link provided below:

Of course, all other details regarding the LineageOS 17.1 update for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL can be accessed via the GitHub page. That being said, the Pixel 3 duo aren’t the only two new devices to get LineageOS 17.1.
The Poco M2 Pro has also got an unofficial LineageOS 17.1 build thanks to contributions from a few developers who have managed to port a build over to the device.
