Developed by Google, Messages is the company’s universal messaging platform made for Android devices. The messaging service is also available on the web.
While the platform is incredibly popular, it does face some occasional bugs and issues. For instance, it recently stopped displaying contact names for some users.
Google Messages has been testing support for expanded emoji reactions, which allows users to react to RCS messages with any emoji of their choice rather than just the 7 pre-defined ones.
This feature was introduced a few weeks ago, but it has not yet been rolled out to all Google Messages users, even those on the beta program.
Google Messages users still waiting for expanded emoji reactions
Several users are yet to receive expanded emoji reactions and have taken to social media to ask if the feature will be available any time soon, as they are eager to use it.

Normally, beta users get to try unreleased features before everyone else. However, it seems that the tables have turned in this case.
Absurdly, some on the beta are still waiting to try their hands on the expanded emoji reactions while some users on the stable build are already enjoying it.
I’m on the beta and don’t have expanded emojis. But everyone else in my household has it and they’re not on the beta! And we all have the same phone…pixel 6 pro!!!

Some were on pins and needles to try the feature and were expecting it to come with the December Feature Drop but seems that the update did not meet their expectations. It took 7 attempts for a user to finally receive the feature.
A Google Diamond Product Expert has communicated that the feature is slowly rolling out and will be available to the rest in the coming weeks.
The expanded emoji reactions feature has the potential to add more fun and personality to RCS messaging, and it will be interesting to see how users respond to it once it is finally released.
We hope Google Messages rolls out the expanded emoji reactions for everyone as soon as possible. Until then, keep tabs on this story as we will update it with further developments.
