Google Nest Wi-Fi is one of the most popular home mesh Wi-Fi systems and is a viable alternative if you want to replace your existing router setup.

That being said, it ensures that Wi-Fi covers every part of your home. Moreover, Nest Wi-Fi points also come with a speaker powered by the Google Assistant, allowing easy access to connected devices.

Having said that, in April of 2021, Google announced that they would be shutting down the dedicated Google Wi-Fi app that allows users to manage routers. All app functions are now available on the Google Home app.

But now, Google Nest Wi-Fi users are reporting a bug where the Wi-Fi icon is not showing up on the Google Home app’s main page.

Users have already tried reinstalling the app and resetting the mesh but nothing seems to be working.

However, the Wi-Fi seems to be working perfectly fine. Moreover, all devices seem to be connected and working fine.

When opening the Google home app, the wifi icon to be able to test/manage my mesh network isn’t showing. How can I get the icon to appear to be able to manage my network?

The Google Wifi app lists all devices and retains some functionality, but warns the functionality has moved to the Google Home app. Many features have been disabled from the Google Wifi app. The Google Home app does not contain a “Wifi” icon, though.

It does contain the nest units as speakers, so the Google Home app does see them. I am also extremely dissatisfied with the performance of the Nest Wifi performance, with a lot of packet loss and unstable connection when playing games.

We want to remind you that the Wi-Fi icon is the only way users can access their Google Nest Wi-Fi settings.

Since it is not showing up on the Google Home app anymore, users are unable to manage their network or change any settings.

Google has finally commented on the Wi-Fi icon not showing up on the Home app issue and said they have shared the details with the Google Nest team and looking into it deeper.

We hope the Google Nest team looks into the matter and comes up with a fix or a workaround that allows users to manage their network settings.
