Be it smartphones or wearables, functionalities going out of order is more or less like a regular practice. One such new issue with the LG Watch Sport running Android Wear 2.0 has caught our sight. Thankfully, Google is already aware and working to resolve it.

The matter was brought into light last week by an LG Watch Sport user on Google’s own Issue tracking website. The complainant reported that the Android Wear app’s ‘Watch battery’ usage section on his Pixel 2 unit displays nothing but only Bluetooth (as can be seen in the following user-shared image).

Here’s how the concerned user explained the problem:

When I open the Android Wear app on my phone and navigate to the Watch Battery display, the “Use since last full charge” portion of the screen only indicates Bluetooth. No apps, no screen, no Android OS – just Bluetooth. This has persisted after performing factory resets on both the watch and the phone, and is not an issue with my other Android Wear devices (Huawei Watch first-gen and ZTE Quartz).

The same user also shared a similar complaint filed back in January by another user on the Issue tracker, highlighting that others are also facing this issue.

Here’s how the user (who posted the problem in January) described the glitch:

I have an LG Watch Sport paired to a Pixel 2016 and when I go into the Android Wear app to check watch battery usage (the chart thingy) it shows only one item – bluetooth. That can’t be right since I have apps installed, NFC and wifi enabled, etc. Screen isn’t shown – nothing is except bluetooth. Recent updates to the Android Wear app on both phone and watch have not resolved this, nor has unpairing, resetting, and repairing the watch and phone. The phone is running the newest release of Android 8.1.0 and the watch is running Android Wear 2.8 Oreo.

What’s appeasing is that this time, Google quickly acknowledged the issue soon after it was re-reported, saying

We are working on this issue and will provide updates as they are available

While Google is working on the matter in question, there’s no known time line as to how long affected users will have to wait. We hope Google fixes what’s broken sooner than later. Meanwhile, we are keeping a tab on all related developments, and will update as and when anything newsworthy comes up.
