Soon after Google fixed the music controls issue on smartwatches running Android Wear, came to light another problem – broken notifications.
Looks like a recent update – like it usually does – has broken an existing functionality, as Android Wear users are now complaining of not receiving new notifications on their smartwatches. Users say notifications – for apps like Gmail and Hangouts – only show up on phone, but not on their smartwatches.
In some cases notifications are broken for all apps, but others say they do get them for selected apps like Facebook Messenger. Apart from the official Android Wear help forum and Reddit, affected users are also taking to Twitter to bring the issue to light.

The problem has been officially acknowledged by Google, not only on Twitter, but over at its issue tracking website as well.
It’s a relief that the problem is being worked on, but how long will it take to fix the glitch, that’s not known yet.
Note: Recently, Android Wear’s v2.6 started rolling out. But as can be seen on the company’s issue tracker, Google is asking for bug reports even after the launch of v2.6. So that means the latest version doesn’t contain fix for the issue.
If you are also among the ones not receiving notifications on their smartwatches, we suggest you to keep a tab here, as we’ll update as and when any development takes place.
