Google Chrome users have been experiencing a significant issue with bookmark syncing between devices, primarily affecting those with a large number of bookmarks.

Thanks to a discovery made by a Redditor, it has come to light that Google has placed a limit on the number of Chrome bookmarks that can sync across multiple devices.

The issue appears to be related to a limit on the number of bookmarks that can be stored locally on a device, which is set to 20,000 for mobile and 100,000 for desktop.

The problem seems to have started with a recent Chrome update, which introduced a new feature to improve bookmark syncing by guarding “against users with way too many bookmarks in Sync.”

Some users have also reported that bookmarks are disappearing from their mobile app, and they are also unable to sync bookmarks between their desktop and smartphone.

Google has not yet officially acknowledged the issue where Chrome is unable to sync large numbers of bookmarks between devices, nor has it provided a solution.

Some users had suggested a temporary fix that involves turning off sync for bookmarks and turning it back on.

While it was believed to help to reset the bookmark syncing process and allow users to access their bookmarks again, it didn’t work for everyone.
