New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on Dec. 07, 2022) follows:

Google Chrome’s Price Tracking feature is one of the most useful tools that can save you some money. If you shop using Chrome, this tool will help you monitor the online price of products and let you know if it dips at any storefront.

For this, you just need to turn on this feature in settings. And then whenever you open a shopping website, it will show as a bell icon in the search bar. You just have to click it to monitor the price.

However, the price tracking feature is currently not working or showing up in the address bar for a section of users.

Users say that even though they’ve got this option turned on in the settings, the bell icon isn’t showing up in the search bar when browsing a shopping website.

This problem seems to be affecting both Windows and macOS users. Here are some reports for reference:

Chrome added Price tracking feature recently, but so far it has not worked for me. Has anyone had any luck with it on any site? (Source)

Updated to latest version of google chrome and would like to use the price tracker feature. I do not have the Bell in the address bar to click so a price can be tracked. I tried looking up a few common items and regardless of vendor (target, best buy, amazon) the bell never appears. (Source)

Luckily, Google support didn’t take too long to acknowledge this problem. Responding to a user’s complaint, they said that this issue is currently being investigated.

And while the Chrome support manager has confirmed that this is a known issue on macOS that popped up after the M108 release, Google support is yet to acknowledge the reports from Windows users.

Hey all, We are aware of an issue in today’s Chrome M108 release that is preventing Price Tracking from working on some macOS devices. We are investigating and we will share an update once the issue is resolved. (Source)

Unfortunately, we haven’t come across any potential workaround that might help you resolve this glitch. So you’ll have to wait until devs come up with a definitive resolution.

That said, we will update this story with info as and when we come across anything noteworthy.

Update 1 (December 28, 2022)

04:32 pm (IST): It turns out that the price tracking feature is currently limited to the US only.

However, even those who live in the US are reporting that they still don’t have it. Furthermore, a community product expert speculates it could be a case of phased roll out. So, it may take some time to appear.
