Here’s the crux of the article in video form:
Google has also joined the artificial intelligence race by developing its own version of ChatGPT and Bing Chat called Bard. Interested users in the US and the UK can register to get on the waiting list.
Bard is similar in functionality to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, and it draws on Google’s Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA), which was trained on large datasets based on internet text.
Google Bard early impression
According to some early adopters of Google Bard, it’s underwhelming and less capable than rivals like Bing Chat or ChatGPT (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8).
Despite being developed by Google, some users find that ChatGPT and Bing are noticeably superior to Bard. This has come as a surprise to them, as they expected Google’s AI to be better or at least comparable to OpenAI’s offerings.
Even well-known YouTuber MKBHD agrees with this sentiment, stating that Bing Chat is currently better than Bard.
Users also feel that responses generated by Bard may seem more like coded answers rather than natural language from an AI.
This could be due to differences in the way Bard and other AI language models process and generate responses.
Google’s Bard still has a lot to learn to be at the same level as GPT

Bard seems to be not as smart as BingChat because it’s based on a lighter model. Is this the right strategy for Google?

On top of that, the accuracy of answers generated by Bard is a big question mark in itself as it seems to make up facts or straight-up lies about facts (1,2,3,4,5,6).
Google bard feels like me when I graduated I responded to all questions quickly but half or more were wrong and less reliable
@OpenAI chatgpt 3 or @bing is like me now after a decade of experience, I may answer slowly but answers are more reliable

However, Bard is not alone in this category as ChatGPT gives out false information as well but the issue is that it may be even worse than ChatGPT in some situations.
The only big positive at this point is the speed at which Google Bard answers and you can perform real-time Search.
We hope Google takes the user’s feedback and makes the necessary adjustments to Bard. That said, we will keep an eye on the latest information and update this article.
