Less than a month after Google released a Web client for its Allo smart messaging app, the company has pushed out an update to the application. While there’s still no official word on what all changes this Google Allo update includes, we could spot at-least two major ones: ability to search emoji/stickers/GIFs and the addition of Whisper/Shout feature.
So now you can easily search for emoji, stickers, and GIFs by clicking the ‘smart smiley’ icon (one with magnifying glass on it). For example, here is what all my Allo Web app shows when I click on that icon:
Moving on, the Whisper/Shout feature lets you increase/decrease the font size of the text you’re about to send, something which you can do by holding down the send button with your mouse, and scrolling the mouse wheel up or down.
A quick search on Google revealed that several other users have also received the update. However, if you’re not seeing it at the moment, don’t panic, as it could be gradual roll out, and you should get it within a few days at max.
For those who aren’t aware, Allo for Web is currently only compatible with Google Chrome Web browser, although the company has already confirmed they’re working on supporting other popular Web browsers.
