Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on July 14, 2022) follows:

If you are into smart home products, you must have heard about Geeni. Used by millions worldwide and featuring a user-friendly app, the company offers affordable products that can be used without a hardware hub or subscription.

Geeni manufactures a wide range of smart home products including but not limited to cameras, lights, smart plugs, Wi-Fi extenders, surge protectors, switches, and RGB strips.

But in the last few hours, many Geeni users have reported that their devices are not working with Google Home. The issue is preventing those affected from controlling their devices using voice commands (1,2,3,4,5).

Users say their devices were automatically removed from Google Home and there is some sort of problem when trying to establish a link between the two.

Some are reportedly getting a message that says ‘No devices were found in your Geeni account’ when trying to add Geeni devices to Google Home.

@myGEENI Geeni is no longer linked to my Google Home account. I try to link it again, Google Home says it’s successful, but no devices show up. Geeni app says it’s linked to my Google Home account. Still yet, no devices show up in GH. Is there a known issue going on?

Issues with geeni/merkury lights. Works fine on native app, has worked for 2+years linked to google. Now geeni won’t link even after saying it is. Restarted Wi-Fi, re-synced everything. Somethings up with @myGEENI & @madebygoogle @googlenesthelp connection. #geenidown

While the developers are yet to comment on the issue, we came across a workaround that might help users control their devices. As it turns out, the Geeni app is working just fine and all the devices can be controlled from there.

@madebygoogle Geeni s app works fine and all the devices are there.

So until Google and Geeni work together and find a solution, affected users will have to resort to the app. We hope developers find out why Geeni devices are not working with Google Home and fix the glitch at the earliest.

Until then, we will be keeping an eye out on the problem and update this space as and when we come across more information so make sure you stay tuned to PiunikaWeb.
