Last month Samsung made it official that some of the cool features that debuted with the Galaxy Watch Active2 would find their way to the older Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active models via software updates.

Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active users will soon be able to enjoy all the user experience functionality found on the Galaxy Watch Active2 thanks to a new software update. Samsung Electronics is bringing a range of dynamic updates to its earlier-generation watches, including enhanced Samsung Health features, Bixby features, and customization options.

The company wasted no time as the said features arrived on the Galaxy Watch and Watch Active over a month ago. However, in the former’s case, only the Wi-Fi-only model picked up this update.

We all know about the role carriers play in delaying software updates. This is exactly what’s at play here, with the LTE variant (46mm) of the Galaxy Watch only beginning to receive the same update some hours ago.

The new update is arriving over the air as software version R805FXXU1FSL4 and weighs the same 117MB as its non-LTE counterpart. Sure, it gets a slightly different build, but the changelog is pretty much identical to the one we got last month.

Being an OTA update, it may take several days before all units of the Galaxy Watch (LTE) picks up the new features, so stay patient as you wait.

For those using the non-LTE Galaxy Watch (46mm), the 42mm model and the original Galaxy Watch Active, this same update already rolled out earlier, but there is also a new one rolling out with build number DSL1.

The changelog in either case only mentions improved system reliability and no changes to the base Tizen OS version 4.0.0.7 that brought the Watch Active2 features last month. But this doesn’t mean you should ignore it.
