Android 11 isn’t exactly ‘new’ anymore. First unveiled back in September 2020, the version of Android that brought with it features like a redesigned permissions manager has been trickling down to devices.

Many OEMs are currently in their last stages of the rollout and you can check out our dedicated tracker here for more on this.

Vivo has been steadily pushing out Android 11 to its devices over the past couple of months and we’ve been closely following the development in this area, more on that in our dedicated Vivo Android 11 tracker here.

Even as Vivo has been rolling out Android 11 to its devices, it is now coming to light that not all devices got Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11.

According to a number of users, their Vivo devices did get Android 11, only based on the company’s Funtouch OS 10.5.

These users reportedly bagged Android 11 on their devices as far back as late last year but this didn’t bring all the Funtouch OS 11 features.

These devices include, but aren’t limited to the:

Vivo Y19
Vivo Y15
Vivo Y12
Vivo Z1x
Vivo X50 Pro
Vivo S1 Pro
Vivo V17 Pro

Understandably, these device owners have been on edge, also wanting in on the Android 11-based Funtouch OS 11 goodness.

As the clamor for the Funtouch OS 11 update from these device-owners continues, Vivo has confirmed that indeed, it plans to update these Funtouch OS 10.5-running devices to Funtouch OS 11 soon.
