Going by the latest developments, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Meizu has now joined the Android 10 bandwagon. The OEM has now started with Android 10 (Flyme OS 8.1) internal beta recruitment for a bunch of its phones.

Notably, the supported devices include Meizu 17 and 16 series, Meizu Note9, Meizu Note8, and X8. To be more specific a total of 12 devices (along with Meizu 17 and 17 Pro) will adapt to this recruitment.

This piece of information was shared via an official post on the Meizu community platform. The same was announced via Weibo (Chinese equivalent of Twitter) as well.

Here is what the announcement reads:

Flyme based on Android 10 is now undergoing internal beta recruitment, and the first internal beta version was officially launched on July 21. In addition to the Meizu 17 series, 10 models will be adapted. More surprises are unlocked one after another.

As per the information shared in the official post, the beta registration is from June 23 till July 31, 2020. Below is the list of all Meizu models supported for this Flyme OS 8.1 (Android 10) internal beta recruitment.

Moreover, the Flyme OS 8.1 (Android 10) internal beta update will be pushed for Meizu 16s Pro, 16s, Meizu 16th and 16th Plus from July 21, while Meizu 16T, 16X, 16Xs, Note9, Note8, and X8 will pick up the update by the end of July.

The recruitment is live for all the above mentioned Meizu phones in China. If you are also interested in testing out Flyme OS 8.1 (Android 10) beta update then, you need to head over to the System Update app and click on “Android 10 Internal Test Recruitment” and follow the instructions to register.

Update 1 (July 22)

The Flyme OS 8.1 beta update based on Android 10 began rolling out to users a day ago. Unfortunately, due to a restart bug, the update had to be suspended. Here’s the official statement:

Update 2 (July 30)
