Here’s the crux of the article in video form
New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on February 20, 2023) follows:
Fitbit is one of the most popular fitness brands that is well equipped with monitoring various fitness-related stats.
With the help of the app, one can easily connect with friends, start activity challenges, read informative articles, get professional advice, and more.
And for years, Fitbit has emphasized the importance of its Challenges, which are basically certain competitions between Fitbit users.
However, it has recently been revealed that on March 27, all challenges, including adventures and trophies, will be eliminated as part of the Fitbit app’s simplification efforts.
Fitbit terminating Challenges and Adventures
Resultantly, a number of users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) are absolutely disappointed to see that Fitbit is getting rid of all the challenges and trophies.
ummm @fitbit you know that the challenges were literally the ONLY reason to have a fitbit right?🤨

Apart from it, Open Groups will also not be available to use anymore. This option allows anyone in the community to join by submitting a request, in contrast to closed groups which are invite-only.
Users are dismayed at this news as according to them these features were a great way of keeping up with their friends and family. Moreover, it helped them stay motivated and healthy by completing daily/weekly challenges.
Some people are now even terminating their premium subscriptions. While others (1,2,3,4,5) are desperately asking the devs to not get rid of the Challenges and Adventures.
Here’s an alternative
As soon as the news of the termination of Challenges and Adventures by Fitbit broke out, users are looking for potential alternatives. It appears some users are migrating to the Stridekick app (1,2,3).
Looks like it is cross-platform, so users can participate in challenges with friends who own Apple Watches or Garmins. You can also take on other tasks that don’t involve simple processes.
Look into the Stridekick app. It is cross-platform so you an do challenges with friends even if they have an Apple Watch or Garmin. And you can do other challenges that aren’t just steps.
