The Xiaomi community is clamoring over the new skin on top of Android, MIUI 12. This update brings so many new features, a drastic system redesign and enhancements that are all geared towards offering users a more refined Android experience.
Already, a good number of devices have bagged this eagerly-awaited update. We are maintaining a detailed tracker that keeps a tab on the rollout of MIUI 12 to eligible devices in various regions and markets.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE was unveiled back in February 2019. This mid-range device packs 6GB of RAM and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 chip. The device came with Android 9 Pie out of the box and Xiaomi’s MIUI 10. The device has since been updated to MIUI 11 and is in line for an update to MIUI 12.
Already, we have seen the Chinese variant of the Mi 9 SE bag the update to MIUI 12 with the promise that other regional variants would follow suit soon. Well, Mi 9 SE in Europe will have to wait a little more as today, the device is bagging an update that is not the much-awaited MIUI 12 build.
Xiaomi is today rolling out the June 2020 security update to the Mi 9 SE in Europe. This update is still based on Android 10 and can be identified by its software version number V11.0.9.0.QFBEUXM.
This update brings little more than the updated security patch level as demonstrated in the following changelog.

This means the update will hit eligible devices slowly over the course of the next couple of days or weeks. Xiaomi still plans to complete MIUI 12 stable rollout for the second batch by end of September and with that, Mi 9 SE users should expect to get updated to MIUI 12 by then.
If you’re not a MIUI fan, Xiaomi has already released the Android 10 Kernel source code for the Mi 9 SE and as such, we should soon see a lot of stable Android 10-based custom ROMs for this device.
