New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on July 7, 2020) follows:
Huawei is scheduled to release it’s next EMUI version sometime next year. Moreover, a company executive recently confirmed that EMUI 11 will be arriving in the third quarter of 2020.
Therefore, with that out of the way, the question of which devices will be receiving the update remains. Thanks to some new information, we might just have the answer to that question. But before we proceed, it’s worth noting that these details are not confirmed by Huawei.
Nonetheless, an image is making rounds on Weibo and Huawei’s Chinese community forum that shows a list of devices set to receive EMUI 11. The alleged list is for the first batch of devices that will receive the update.
Based on the image, these are the first batch of Huawei devices to receive the update in Q3 2020 (July-September):
- Huawei Mate series: Mate 30 Pro, Mate 30, Mate 30 RS, Porsche Design, Mate 20X/Pro, Porsche RS, Mate X.
- Huawei P series: P40/Pro, P30/Pro.
- Huawei Nova series: Nova 6 5G, Nova5T/Pro, Nova5z, Nova 5i Pro.
- Huawei tablets: MatePad, Mediapad M6.
- Honor series: Honor V30 Pro, Honor V20, Honor 20 Pro, Honor 20s, Honor 20 Youth edition, Honor 9X Pro.
As we mentioned at the beginning, this list of devices has not been confirmed by Huawei officially. Therefore, it should be taken with a pinch of salt. Nonetheless, the devices mentioned in the list are expected to receive the Android 11 update anyways.
This is due to the fact that Huawei pushes out at least two major Android updates for its smartphones. Since the devices in the list launched with Android 9 Pie or newer, they should get the EMUI 11 update based on Android 11.
