eBay autocorrect reportedly keeps changing names in search, issue acknowleged

eBay is a quite popular e-commerce platform used by millions of people across the globe to buy and sell merchandise.

But like any other e-commerce platform, eBay also has its fair share of bugs and issues. This time, some are facing difficulties in searching for things on the platform.

Some eBay users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), are facing difficulties in looking for items on the marketplace as the autocorrect feature constantly keeps on altering names in search.

Due to this glitch, some end up getting 0 results on the website, even if the actual or similar items may be readily available with eBay.

The issue has been persistent for the past few days and those affected have taken up to the web forums to express their concerns.

One of the users says that the autocorrect feature keeps on changing what they type every time making it impossible to search for what they were looking for.

Another platform user alleges that the auto-correct feature changes the search query to gibberish half the time.

Literally cannot search for any baseball player with an odd name. Even if you click on the “Jackson Chourio /250” suggestion or some other one it reverts back to some gibberish. Infuriating.

Users are now requesting the company to introduce an option to disable the pre-enabled autocorrect feature in search.

Fortunately, the eBay support team on Twitter has officially acknowledged this issue and is currently working on fixing it. Although, no official ETA for the bug fix has been provided.

A user on the eBay Community forums suggests that you try putting all of your search terms in quotes.

We do hope that eBay resolves this glitch soon.
