[Updated] DoorDash Dasher app reportedly freezing or too slow after latest update for some users

DoorDash is an American food delivery platform that connects customers with local and national businesses and offers the deliveries placed by customers to Dashers, who earn money by picking up and delivering them.

However, some customers are facing issues related to the app’s surprisingly slow performance owing to a recent update.

DoorDash Dasher app keeps freezing

Some users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) have been reporting an issue where the DoorDash Dasher app is repeatedly freezing ever since the latest update.

My app has been lagging hard for about three days now,every button I press takes maybe 20 seconds to register, it also takes me at least three minutes to take a picture to leave at door and complete order. Everything else on my phone works normal anyone know what’s goin on???

I just paused my doordash shift and it went into the pause screen and then refused to let me back on when I was ready, it instead glitches out and I lost the rest of my shift because it’s no longer busy enough. That’s so annoying. @DoorDash I was scheduled until 2pm.

According to reports, DoorDash is not performing any function properly and stops working whenever any action or task is prompted.

Both iOS and Android apps keep logging some dashers out of the app while others are unable to complete deliveries.

It is quite frustrating for some as the glitch is causing the app to serve wrong deliveries for some and even taking a lot of time to load anything on the screen.

Potential workaround

Fortunately, we’ve come across a workaround that can help fix the DoorDash Dasher app freezing issues temporarily. It involves downgrading to an older version of the app.

It seems that the developers are not aware of the issue yet so the affected users can try installing an older version for the time being.

That said, we’re keeping tabs on all related developments and will update this page with relevant information as and when we come across any.

01:13 pm (IST): One of our readers has confirmed that the issue with the Dasher app got fixed after they updated it to the latest version via Play Store.

I suggest that majority of the people who read this article need to go to their Google Play Store and see if there needs to be an update because they released one today and also yesterday and it fixed my Dasher app.

trust me I was seeing the date December 1970 in one of my records of my previous payouts, so I definitely knew there was something wrong with the app.. it did cost me the rest of the evening from earning money, but I definitely much better than a factory restart to my phone.
