VoWiFi or WiFi Calling has been one of the demanded features by the users of Android smartphones in the recent past.
Just to keep it simple, it makes use of the WiFi connection (when available) instead of the mobile network in places where there is a low signal to improve the call quality.
There are OEMs that have made this feature available via an update without the need of the users asking for it and other eligible phones will be getting it in the future.
We have mentioned this earlier, and we will not shy away from mentioning this again that not all the Android smartphones available in the market will be getting the VoWiFi feature.
However, making things clear, a new post has come up in the official Mi community forum by one of the Xiaomi users, which gives us a clear picture of which all devices are eligible or support the VoWiFi or WiFi Calling feature. This list includes supported phones from Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco phones.
But according to the post, it misses out mentioning the Redmi Note 9 Pro and its Max counterpart. So we have compiled a list of devices from Jio and Airtel websites.
And it includes devices like Redmi Note 8, Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 7, Note 9 Pro, Note 9 Pro Max, Redmi 8, 8A, Redmi 8 Dual, Redmi 7A, Remdi Note 7 Pro, Redmi 7, Redmi Y3, Redmi K20/Mi 9T, Redmi K20 Pro/Mi 9T Pro and Poco F1 (aka Pocophone F1) support VoWiFi only on Jio and Airtel networks.
While Poco X2 supports VoWiFi or WiFi Calling only on Vodafone as of now. For your reference, below is the user post, mentioning the list of devices supporting VoWiFi (which does not include the Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max):
Moreover, for those who are wondering, all the devices launched from the year 2020 will be getting the VoWiFi calling feature, leaving aside some exceptions.
If your device is in the list of the phones that support VoWiFi, then you can enable this feature by heading over to Settings>>Sim Card & Mobile Networks>>SIM Card>> Enable VoLTE and also enable Make Calls using WiFi.
