The Android 12 update release is still far but the beta program has been progressing steadily. However, Samsung users have been waiting for a different update altogether for quite some time.

It seems the wait for the One UI 3.5 update is still on as it was earlier expected to come alongside Samsung’s new foldable series.

However, latest reports indicate that the One UI 3.5 update might not be on the cards. As per a leakster, Ice universe, One UI 3.5 does not even exist and the upcoming foldable devices will come out with One UI 3.1.1.

Also, the leakster further said that Samsung is going to start testing the update to One UI 4.0 based on Android 12 for the Galaxy S series devices from next month.

While none of this has been confirmed officially, it is possible that the OEM might ditch its One UI half-upgrade plans this year.

This is because another popular Twitter user, Max Weinbach, has said that the development of One UI 3.5 would be a waste of time and resources.

Moreover, starting with the development of Android 12-based One UI 4.0 would make more sense at this time, according to Max Weinbach, as it would further lead to a quicker update rollout.

This agreement further indicates that the OEM might actually focus on the development of the next major OS update and custom skin instead of its One UI .5 release.

Samsung is known for its One UI .5 half-yearly builds ever since the One UI 1.5 update came out but it seems eligible devices are slated to get the supposed One UI 3.1.1 update this time around.

However, nothing is clear at this point until Samsung makes an official announcement on the matter to clear the air.

Hopefully, Samsung makes matters official in the coming months as many users have been waiting for this year’s One UI .5 build.
