There are multiple reports regarding the said issue on the Roku Support community which indicates that the issue is widespread.

Also, comments from Roku employees suggest that the Discovery+ app keeps pausing issue is with the channel app itself.

This further means that the problem is out of Roku’s hands and needs to be addressed by Discovery+.

It must be noted that this issue has been around since January and both, Roku and Discovery+, have not been able to provide a solution for the same.

Users have been getting generic troubleshooting instructions for clearing cache and reinstalling the Discovery+ channel app.

While these workarounds appear to be solving the issue for some, most users are facing the problem even after troubleshooting.

Try removing the channel from the Roku home screen by navigating to the channel tile, pressing the * key on your remote, and choosing ‘Remove channel’. Then restart your device from Settings>System>System restart. Once your player starts up again, add the channel back once more.

Moreover, there has been no sign of a proper fix for the aforementioned issue from Discovery+ until now.

The Discovery+ app recently got an update to version 1.7.1 and as per a user’s comment, the latest update might include the fix for the pausing issue.

It is, however, unclear whether the said update indeed fixes the problem or not as Discovery+ has not made any announcements on the matter so far.
