Android 10 brought in a low of new features like enhanced security, privacy controls, new design elements, and major UI changes. However, one of the features that aims at improving the digital life of smartphone consumers is Digital Wellbeing.

For naive, Digital Wellbeing allows the user to track their daily technology usage throughout the day. The dashboard shows the number of unlocks, a number of notifications received, time spent on various applications, etc.

digital wellbeingMoreover, with the help of this Digital Wellbeing application, users can minimize distractions and concentrate on their work, unplug yourself from the digital life and spend more time with your family and friends by pausing apps and customizing when and how you get notifications.

However, this feature was available for smartphone users on Android 10. Matter of fact, according to a report on Android Authority, several users wished that they had something like Digital Wellbeing on their Android TVs.

Fortunately, there is an App called ‘App Usage for Android TV: Digital Wellbeing Helper‘ that allows the users to check daily or weekly usage statistics, set a time limit for every app, and more, all of this on the Android TV.

Note that you need to make a one time purchase to unlock the screen time feature for your Android TV. In fact, users seem pretty excited about using this new application on their Android TV to control their viewing habits:

A new version of the popular TVUsage App 4.1 is now rolling out for beta testing and with it comes a nifty little addition that lets Android TV users customize screen time for every app.

Update (March 18, 2021)

A new update of the TVUsage App carrying a version number of 4.2 is now rolling out and it carries the following changes:

Introducing “Unlimited Custom Usage Hours” for each app in TVUsage 4.2 Beta. So far, TVUsage only allowed upto 3 usage hours window for each app that applies to all days. But now, you can set unlimited number usage hours windows specific to any day for each app to control screen time in the way you prefer.
