Here’s the crux of the article in video form
New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….
Original story (published on November 30, 2022) follows:
Call of Duty: Warzone recently got a new sequel with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 this November. The update introduced a few changes to the game including new maps, campaigns, and most importantly, new weapons.
But it has come to the notice of some players that sniper rifles are less effective or insufficiently powered.
COD: Warzone 2.0 nerfed sniper headshot damage
That’s probably why some COD: Warzone 2 players (1,2,3,4) are unhappy and have taken to social media platforms to criticize the nerfed headshot damage of sniper rifles.
Snipers were one of the biggest pains among some players in wz1 and now in wz2 they can’t one hit with a headshot. How are you guys feeling about it?

I think its so stupid that a headshot with the bolt action snipers will only break 3 plates. A solid headshot should 100% down an enemy at range. Change my mind.

A headshot from a sniper rifle should be enough to kill an enemy with a single hit. However, it is currently not doing so and prompting some players to call in for a buff.
As things stand, players can even load several headshots from their snipers to take out opponents (especially those with 3 plates).
It becomes quite absurd because a single headshot should be the most lethal damage, which is sadly not the case at the moment.
We also can’t overlook the fact that a sniper takes time to reload after one shot so if the opponent doesn’t die with the first headshot, it can easily put the players at risk.
Apparently, there’s one way to tackle the alleged nerf of the sniper headshot. Some players suggest modifying the helmet protection system. You can check it out below:

Unfortunately, Infinity Ward hasn’t acknowledged the issue where the sniper headshot damage is noticeably nerfed.
We’ll keep an eye on these issues and update this story to reflect important developments.
Update 1 (January 31, 2023)
04:30 pm (IST): Although it’s been two months since player complaints surfaced, it seems Warzone 2 devs haven’t done anything about how little damage sniper rifles inflict.
Now, more players are asking again for one-shot kills with sniper headshots (1, 2).
Update 2 (February 21, 2023)
04:45 pm (IST): Those who want to snipe their opponents with one hit should try giving incendiary ammunition a shot. An individual also highlighted some loadouts dedicated to giving Snipers a one-shoot kill that you can check out.
NOTE: You can also check out the COD saga tracker for updates on other bugs and issues.
