COD: Warzone 2.0 'footstep inaudible or bugged' & 'game glitching or freezing' when using bomb drone issues come to light

Call of Duty recently launched Warzone 2.0 with the much-anticipated DMZ mode. It also introduced some exciting maps, gameplay features, missions, and more.

However, it has also been exhibiting various bugs and issues that are affecting players’ experience. For instance, the COD Warzone 2 server lag and overpowered ‘DMZ’ AI was quite disappointing for many.

And now, some COD: Warzone 2 players (1,2,3,4,5,6) have been reporting an issue where a bug is preventing them from hearing enemy footsteps.

Footstep audio is WZ2 is non existent. Even at the closest of range. There is 0 audio please fix this 🤷🏾‍♂️ or fix the servers. Something please

It is quite frustrating for many as audio is integral to any competitive shooter. Not only does it help locate enemies but also acts as an important aspect in winning Warzone 2.

However, players are unable to hear footstep audio even when someone is in close proximity to them. It seems that the recent update has also failed to fix the issue.

Here’s how you can fix it

Those who are having trouble hearing the footstep audio can try modifying the Audio Mix settings, turning the music volume down, or try using proximity chat.

COD freezing while using bomb drone

Some COD: Warzone 2 players (1,2,3,4,5) are also reporting that they get stuck in one place while using the bomb drone thus leading to frequent glitching of the game.

Y’all need to fix that freezing shit with the bomb drones. Every time I try to use it I get stuck looking stupid

You guys need to fix the drone bombs, everytime you lay and activate them or stand near an object you get freezer.

This is indeed frustrating as it’s hampering players’ mobility and prompting them to move in the same place.

It’s still unclear as to what is the exact cause of the issue that’s triggering constant freezing of the game every time a bomb drone is activated.

Unfortunately, Infinity Ward hasn’t acknowledged the issue where COD: Warzone 2 footstep audio is inaudible or bugged. The team also hasn’t commented on the freezing issue when using the bomb drone.

We hope Infinity Ward soon patches these problems. When they do, we will be updating this space to reflect the same so stay tuned.
